The smell of freshly mown grass on a beautiful day is fantastic as the sun warms your skin. Nine players take the field and the first batter walks to the plate. Play ball! This is my idea of a perfect day.
MLK weekend did not stop the turnout at the Saturday night basketball game. Many students, parents, and faculty attended the PC v Liberty game. Going into the game, expectations were high. The PC men had yet to win a Big South Conference game, while Liberty had won one out of four.
Saturday, our very own Templeton gym played host to not one but two basketball games. A double header between the PC women and men’s basketball teams against Radford and Campbell Universities, respectively. PC Women played at 5, followed by PC Men at 7:45. PC women played a very intense game against Radford, trying to maintain their winning streak in the Big South Conference, 5-0.
… “Well we played two games this year, and I said ‘This is a time for athletics to give back to academics’.”
… there are those who shed the foundational armor of the feet and kiss the ground with their bare soles.
The Student Union Board hosted a showing of the finale of the March Madness craze that comes around every year. On Monday night, the national championship men’s basketball game was shown on the big screen in Springs Campus Center.
